As expected, those with lower credit are often the ones who need a credit card or loan to assist them the most. Yet with a score below 600, it’s often very hard to get a card or approved for a loan. Many times people are forced to take out high-interest loans and get stuck in a cycle of debt. However, there’s a light at the end of that tunnel, and its name is Marla Blow.
Blow used to work at Capital One for almost a decade, and she’s developed a startup called FS Card to work with people who have poor credit histories.
The card is called Build and has MasterCard branding, and it helps clients build their credit without borrowing from a lender with abysmally high interest. It targets people with a credit score between 550 and 600. So far, it’s off to a successful start, with 50,000 signups in the past year and a half.
